XIII International Symposium on Tardigrada

This was the fourth tardigrade congress held in Italy and the second one in Modena. The Symposium was attended by 96 participants (+15 accompanying persons) representing 25 countries from four continents (Asia, Europe, North and South America).

During the congress 41 talks (in nine sessions) and 58 posters (in two sessions) were presented. The topics discussed at the Symposium included taxonomy, phylogeny, morphology, biogeography, ecology, physiology, molecular genetics, genomics and life histories.

The Young Scientist Award for the best oral presentation and the best poster was given to Vladimir Gross (Germany) and to Tarushika Vasanthan (Canada), respectively.
